I am a believer

I have lived part of my life afraid, afraid of so much, and now, I am living to learn, love, laugh, enjoy all that is presented before me. I am able to be me, and enjoy whom I am, and not compromise what I believe in. Be whom you are, not what anyone believes that you should be. Live your life completely and wholly, for yourself, for your family, friends, and as God would have it be.

chicks, pics, updates

My hen came out finally, from her box with her chicks. There are just three, it looked like another one died. But I am excited, she will probably nest again after these get old enough to be on their own. I will get pictures tonight and if I am really good, I will post them.

I got a new phone, a smartphone, and I will try to do it with my phone. If not, next Monday with the camera. Or maybe I will do both. Haha. I am so happy, things are good around here.

So much to put on my list for the weekend, one thing at a time.

Oh, and an update, I have started with my scriptures again. I am going to put up a makeshift curtain tonite and probably start a lap quilt tonite. Also, I may move my easel into there as well tonite so that I have a place to start painting again, if I want. Oh my, so much, so much excitement, love, happiness and good.

Till next time.

Turkeys!! Chicks!!!!

I went out at lunch to go and collect eggs, and then went to check on my turkey hen that is left, setting on her eggs, and I heard PEEPING!!  She has hatched out babies, I saw at least 3 alive, 1 died, and maybe more underneath her. YEAH!!

As soon as they get a little bigger and she is not so nervous, I will get pics of them, they are really cute. The tom was a little nervous with us in there, but very well behaved.

This is so exciting for me, oh my gosh!!!

Dogs and goals

So, I was blaming Ralf for the digging in my garden, and come to find out there is an accomplice by the name  of Pacino, the little devils. I caught both of them red handed this morning, but they didn't care much, as they kept jumping back in the tubs to dig. Dang dogs!!

I planted my tomatoes and one is doing well, and one looks like it was sprayed by something, even before it left the house, so I don't know if it's going to make it, but we will see. My bell pepper is good so far.

Well, as far as my goals, I have accomplished a little on my list. I haven't read scriptures, so I have to make that my priority. I really have enjoyed reading them, it gives me a lot to digest and try to understand. Now that I finally have this room done, I am going to be able to get some of the lap quilts done. I have enough fabric to start and finish them. I have enough denim to make some cute fronts and enough flannel to finish up some light weight ones.

I am going to get some more things out of the cupboard, and am going to have to promise my self to NOT buy anymore cast iron pots and pans. UGH!!! If only they were cracked ones then I wouldn't feel bad because I could make them into clocks and stuff. Haha!! It is so hard to say no to myself, I told David that I was not allowd to buy anymore blankets, I have soooo many. Plus two woolen Pendleton ones that were given to me and David as gifts, its too hot to use them here, but they are very pretty.

Now is the time for me to get up off my hiney and get to work with all the goals that I have lined up to do, just one at a time, no real order, other than to accomplish one.

Have a great day.

Gardens

Well, I finally am getting around to pictures of my little garden to come. This week we dipped back into the 30's and I was holding my breath but everything seems to be okay.
These are my tubs that I grow in. Jalepenos
 More Jalepenos.
 More Jalepenos and Anaheim chiles.
I am hoping this weekend to get the bell pepper and tomatoes planted. This weather has been kind of crazy and with the way the wind has blown, I didn't want to start them. I am hoping to get a squash, some beans and sunflowers this weekend along with some herbs, but ..... I thought about some greens, but again, time is always a factor for me. :)

Dogs!!

My darling little Ralfie decided that soft dirt that is moist with little chile plants growing is much funner to dig in that all the other dirt around. He is such a dorky dog. Fortunately, it looks like the ones he dug out are going to survive.

But, on a good note, they have been valiantly trying to dig to China looking for gophers, both Ralfie and Pacino. They get their heads stuck in the hole they have dug with their little butts sticking up pointing at the sky. Haha, how can anyone not enjoy any animals and the funny stuff they do.

When I go to collect eggs, the big dogs just look so patiently and longingly at my eggs in my hand or those in the carton as I walk back to put them up. Their eyes go back and forth from my face to the egg cartons, lol, it is hilarious at times.

Once in a while I give them one and they are so happy to go and run around, watching each other to make sure the other one doesn't see where each buries their egg, until they finally will bury it about 5 times and then eat them.

I just love these guys.

IT'S DONE!!! YEAH!!

Now, while I didn't get the room done by noon, I did have it finished by 2:30, Jonny came and helped me get the last of the trim in. I was exhausted. I just wanted to fall down, I was pooped out.

But sooo happy now that I accomplished this, I have learned some more on redoing these rooms, and am excited to start planning the next one. Jon wants to redo the bathroom again. Haha, I hope he plans on helping me with that one.

It looks so different than before I began. I really do like the colors, they are so warm and inviting. We all keep going in, I guess we will be planning on colors for the rest of the house, hahaa. Oh my, I am a gluten for punishment, I suppose. So many plans. I will get the daybed in sometime this week, and David says he will go and get me a new mattress for it, yeah!!

So excited, and now I can concentrate on my garden and yard, and can actually start sewing without worrying about putting up stuff, I can leave it out and go back and finish. I have a little lap quilt that I am going to start, a very simple one, maybe more appropiately a lap blanket. I don't know, I just know I am excited and happy.

I moved the dresser onto this wall, hung a picture and added my stirrup lamp, I will need to make a shade for it.
David brought this hanging from the sale on Saturday, and in this corner the daybed will go. I still have a couple of things, the outlet covers, to paint and put on.
Here is my sewing machine, under the window, happy to be out of the dingy packed corner, ready to start sewing day and nite. My paternal grandmother left this to me when she died in 74. It has been such a good machine, but I fear its getting close to be on its last leg. :(

I am going to put a mirror on the door of the gun cabinet and add some removable shelves, just in case someone might want it for a gun cabinet again. I am hoping to have this done in a couple of weeks. Soon.

So the plan is to finish the room by noon tomorrow, have it ready to put a throw rug, add a shelving unit, a daybed, sewing machine and my little dresser in it, then start on hanging a picture or two. Hot diggity dog, I am so excited to get this done.

Meanwhile, my garden is doing really well, my chiles have taken and are growing. I have a bell pepper and two tomatos to plant still, and I am hoping to get some beans going this weekend and a squash or two. I cannot hardly wait to start harvesting from them again. Also, I might try some lettuce or greens, maybe just maybe. And a sunflower..

All the animals are doing really well, everyone of them is really healthy, and it looks as if my goats are pregnant. So it looks like the first of July maybe will be delivery time for them. The dogs are well, the donkeys are so cute, Bunny is jealous of anytime that I spend with any other animal (including people) but she is doing well.

No turkey chicks yet, it takes about 28 days, so it should be anytime now. I am so excited to see them. So far so good with all.

My lessons are all doing well, and I am so excited with the progress that they all are making. Its so neat to see them gain confidence in what they are doing, and just the excitement in their eyes.

So so much going on, but I am soooo happy and excited for what the rest of my life brings.

Have a great day, a wonderful weekend and a spectacular life!!

What a feelin!!!

Have you ever woke up just feeling o k, and then someone says something to you, whether it's a joke, a compliment, or just something nice, and you break out into such a big smile that it absolutely wakes your whole body, and you just feel like you are going to have one of the greatest days ever???

That was today. I feel so happy, so content, so filled with love, peace, joy and happiness. What a feeling, and I feel as if I can accomplish any and everything that I set out to do.

Have a wonderful day to all that read this, and may your day also be filled with such peace and joy that it uplifts you to a place that you float in and can be you.

updates

I am tired, so tired and worn out, haha. You would never think that redoing a room would do that to you, but it has. Between painting, preparing, caulking, sweeping, it just wore me out.

I picked up another lesson, so there are 6 now, and they are creeping into my weekdays now. I am going to sit down and figure a schedule so that I don't get too burned out. Once I get the room done, I will be good to go.

I have one more coat of paint to do, and then I can put up the trim and prepare to do the tile. I sure hope that it goes well. I am kindof nervous about the tile but if I don't try, but then we'll getter dun!!! Somehow, one way or the other. I also decided that I will have to put a trim at the bottom of the walls as well, so that should go pretty easy.

Its been in the 80's already and windy and dusty and stuff, I wished that we would get some rain, hopefully soon. The dirt is so fine that it just sits in the air when we are riding, and with lessons that causes a problem, its tough to breathe in. A little bit of a breeze kindof helps. But when the wind blows, its just plain ucky, cause the dirt goes everywhere.

I planted my chiles, I have 18 jalepenos, and 6 anaheim. I am hoping to get my tomatos planted this weekend and a squash and some beans. I am excited to get some veggies and chiles. I probably will plant a serrano as well, and maybe some asparagus. Who knows.

Here is the room where it stands right now. I really really like this brown, it is so rich in color, and with the california poppy color and creamy butter, its so warm, refreshing and comfortable.

I will get more pictures as I finish up.
