Life out back.

Summer always brings monsoons, the humidity, the wind, dirt and sometimes we are blessed with rain at our house. It does rains here, not always at our home, but around the valley. Storms always roll off either Mt. Graham, or the range across the river. Its fun to see them go right by, and sometimes hit us. Its amazing to watch the storms roll off the mountain hills across the river, because it always will pick up the dirt from the river and fields, so you end up with a wall of dirt first. You have as a backdrop the subtle colors of different rains, heavy medium and light as they follow the dirt. It can be so clear and sunny and then darkness creeping over head as the storm gets closer.

This storm came in rather quickly, I had monitored it because of ridiing lessons. We had to cancel our lessons, it moved so quickly.

This is a little more to the east.

After it rolled past the river, it started going east of us, at first it looked as if was going to hit us head on. There was so much dirt coming in, sometimes you couldn't see past the palm trees much. I was inside now, and taking this picture through the kitchen window.

Bunny is such a ham, she wants all the attention and does not like to share it with anyone. Some days I think that she is more half dog, half people. 

Waffles has really warmed up to all of us, and when you enter the arena, she comes as fast as she can, hoping that I have brought an apple. I can not believe how ornery these donkeys are, I am learning so much about them and how different they think and do. And they don't forget much. 

These are our two new additions, although we won't be keeping these two. They are very sweet and friendly. We don't know much about them, they just are pets and have been that way since a lady aquired them. She passed away and her kids needed to move them, plus a lot of other animals. We already have prospective homes for them, and are hoping that it will be long term with understanding of donkeys.

Both of these ones are bigger than Bunny, and have long fur. I don't know what kind they are, except longears.  

My garden is still there, just not like last year. My mint, sage and thyme are growing really well, as is my Spanish Lavender. I can't say the same for my basil. The chiles are putting out, just not very big chiles but they have a really good flavor and are not too hot yet. My squash gave up, but I am receiving so much from everyone else that it is okay.

Anyway, not much else to say, other than we live a blessed life. Have a great one :).

Kitties

So my little Taco has big dreams of catching my doves.  He just sits there and looks at them, creeps around the pen and just stares at them. So a couple of days ago he was stalking the chickens.  He has even stalked the turkeys through the fence.  He is so cute.

 

He is growing really fast like kittens do. 

I have so much fun with these animals and they are so cool.

Clouds

Clouds have always fascinated me, so much, that when I end up going through my old pictures, I am amazed at how many are of clouds. I guess I am always in the clouds. 

Maybe that's what is wrong with me, haha!!

This one is from when there was a lot of smoke in the air, fires create such a different array of colors.

Another one from the house, you can see the dust blowing at the bottom before the storm hit. It comes rolling in from the north from across the river. It is awesome, makes you realize how little you are and sooo weak.

There are so many colors, grays, blues, purples, browns, oranges and yellows. The different types of clouds, the shapes. There are clouds that when I look at them they feel and look so unreal, the different textures and shades, the colors, some so close, some so far.

I used to know all the names of the different types, but now I only know a few.  I love the pureness of the white and the depth the purples, blues and grays.  And with a background of blue skies, just so simply amazing, always.

Again? Quik updates.

Oh gosh, this week, this month is slipping away from me, its crazy!! So updates real fast, no baby goats yet. We sold a horse, Little Joe, a black and white paint, I got to see for the first time a Bashkir Curly, (I think that is how you spell it) a very longhaired curly coated horse. My garden is being wierd, but it is yielding fruit, and the herbs are doing well. My rose died, as did my tomato, the stress was too much I guess.

The dogs are, well, the same crazy happy go lucky weirdo dogs of mine, ( I think that they really reflect me) the kitten is doing really good, loves the dogs. Chickens are doing great and the turkeys too. Bunny and crew are still braying at sirens with the dogs, haha, its pretty hilarious.

David is staying busy busy with trimmings and welding and moving hay. He also has 3 horses that he is training as well, so no rest for him. Jonny went to running camp with brother Dave, and that was something else. He was going, then not, then yeah, then no, they yeah, then no I will stay and do stuff here, then maybe I will just go to Springerville, then no, they yeah again. So brother Bevan was asked and recruited by Jon to see if he could drop him in Globe and then it was off again, on again, OMG!!! So the last time when it was on, Bevan locked his stuff (Jon's) in the trunk and told him he couldn't change his mind again. Haha!!

But he is doing good. Jessie is doing really good too, other than she thinks her puppy is a terror!! She has no patience so I am thinking this puppy has her and Marcos's number, and to hear her talk about it is pretty funny.

I am doing good, feeling good and enjoying this day by day. I need to just slow down and quit hurrying up and it will all be better.

Another day

Busy Busy Busy!! Life becomes such a maze sometimes that you forget where you are going and where you are coming from. Tuesday, as I was leaving to go back to work, I see a little black car coming and they were  honking and waving, it was my daughter!!

I haven't seen here since December, although I have talked to her! I was so excited, and rushed back home to see here, visited for a few minutes and went on to work. I just love my baby girl, and she looks so good and happy, yeah! She stayed until noon on the 4th. It was a good visit.

Ralfie heard her car and was so excited to see her, but it took Pacino a little longer to go to her. I don't think he remembered her very well. He is bonded to me now, and so that is ok. Ralf loves her so it was good for him.

Our poor little gray kitty ended his short little life, he was an adventurous little kitten, and ended up getting stepped on by one of the horses. So, Tomale is buried now and Taco was a little lonely, but Pacino is fixing him up just fine. They hang out together on the porch during the day, and I am still locking him up at night. He is so cute, and such a long tail.

My garden is hanging in there, the chiles are starting to get some heat in them, and they are so delicious, a really good flavor sweet and spicy, ummmm. I have been picking a little mint everyday and eating leaves, its sooo good fresh off the plant. My bell pepper fell over with all the wind, and the squash is looking a little peaked right now, sigh, its been a strange year for my garden.

We are finally getting some rain, even though its just a little, about a 1/4 of an inch so far, better than nothing. Now, (we never can be satisfied, can we?  :) ) its so humid, haha. But it feels good to my skin, it doesn't feel so dry. Everything else is good, no new projects under way yet, but I am getting ready to start some stuff, so I will keep you posted. And some new recipes to try as well. Yummy stuff for our tummy.

Some of the stuff I am going to try is to take a solution of clorox and water, make some stencil and bleach some denim squares to make a quilt with. I am looking forward to experimenting to get it just right for what I want. I also am going to make some stencils to do stuff on some Tshirts for the grandkids for fun. Both seem to be rather easy, not time consuming, and I will use my own designs, so I am looking forward to that. I have a lot of flannel, and will be looking for a pattern that will allow me to make some pajama pants that will actually fit me, instead of what is in the stores. Those will be easy to start with and then as I get going I can get into more difficult stuff, haha, like a tank top or something, or dear, its been so long since I have sewn clothes.

But, we can do it, oh yes we can. Well, have a great day and we will get some more pictures posted.

19 Firefighters

We have survived this heat wave, its in its downhill spiral. Unfortunately,  we have lost 19 fine men, fighting the wildfires here in Arizona. Please pray and hold a moment of silence for their parting of this world, for the families left behind with such a great loss, and friends that will have one less in their presence. May God bless them, their families and friends, and hold them close in His hands.
