I am a believer

I have lived part of my life afraid, afraid of so much, and now, I am living to learn, love, laugh, enjoy all that is presented before me. I am able to be me, and enjoy whom I am, and not compromise what I believe in. Be whom you are, not what anyone believes that you should be. Live your life completely and wholly, for yourself, for your family, friends, and as God would have it be.

Cookie :)

So how is everyone this fine day? Everything here is good, the weather has been sooo nice. My Cookie got hung up in the panels the other morning when one of the fillys got out, and Julio jumped halfway out of his pen to check her out and she just was walking around saying "I'm so cute." This happened last Thursday.

We had to cut the gate to release Julio (he is a stallion) and he is such a good boy. He just stood there while we did it, with a look on his face of " Whatcha doing?" I swear these horses are half human.

Well, Friday Cookie couldn't hardly move, acting as if his back end was giving out on him. We were kindof scared that he had done some serious damage. So we put him in the arena to stretch out and see what was going to happen.

Every day he improved, and the clincher was yesterday morning I looked out and he was running, bucking, kicking, rearing, picking on anything that was around, just the other 3 horses in the arena.

I guess he's ok. This morning he started again. He would go sniff noses, and then just start nibbling ever so softly. Sniff some more, and then BAM!! He would take a real big bite, chomp down and then take off running before the other horses could spin and retaliate!!

It made my day. I just love this horse.

I'm here finally

Oh my gosh, this week got away from me!! But, I made it here.  It's been busy, alot of things happening, and almost felt a little swamped. But, I am doing just fine.

This last Sunday, we picked up another horse, an arabian, he is a little nervous, he wasn't broke until he was seven, and we he came to us the first time, he was a stallion. He is a high energy horse and sweet, but nervous.

The place we picked him up at also has two buffalos, and they were so cute, one came and checked out my phone while I was taking pictures. Haha, she was cute.
She steamed up my phone a little, hee hee, and was just so cute.

As we were unloading some hay there,  I heard honking in the sky and looked up and there were flocks of birds, I am guessing geese, flying over head. There were so many of them, it was really neat. It was a very enjoyable day, and I took a few pictures.

It was a good day for sure.

Zumba was good and it has been fun, alot more people are going and the energy in there is great.  It makes it fun to feel that energy, it makes it easier.

I am working with Pacino to lay down and then I am going to start teaching him a trick. I hope I can accomplish this, his attention span is somewhat limited, especially when I have a cookie in my hand, haha. He is a dork.

I have dawdled this month on working on my quilt, so it's time to get motivated again. There are no excuses allowed, although I just didn't .....

Anyway, I am wishing all a really fun weekend !!  Take care.

Guess what, CLOUDS and sun rays!!!

Almost to the end of the week, but I made it!! It has been a really busy week for me at work, but I was able to get most everything done that I had planned on.

I have started walking again, and its been good so far, just little baby steps right now, like my big brother says, and I am going to get back to two miles!! Yeah!!!

I went and fed the other morning and just sat out at the tack room, and thought this was such a pretty picture, so of course, I had to take it. The blue in the sky was so vivid, and the clouds were so white.

The weather was chilly still, but it was also warm too, it was gorgeous. I was really tired all day though and spent part of my day kind of dozing inside, but I did manage some time outside and that was so worth living here and enduring through our heat in the summer.

This is just another position of the camera, my phone, and I really liked this one too. Bull and Caddie were hangin out with me, and the cat was somewhere. He is always into stuff.

This January has really been nice. I have enjoyed it.

Every chance the cat gets, he darts into the house through the back door, and runs straight to the dog food. Pacino tries to beat him, but... yeah, you know. So, I am watching him, Pacino, and he wants to get a bite so bad, and the cat is just hogging it all. I started taking pictures, and took a few and when they finally shared the bowl, Pacino ran as soon as I started to take pictures. Following are 3, not the greatest but its the best I could do in an instant. The cat doesn't care much as long as there is food and scratchin on his belly.
He just kept staring at the bowl, cat and food.

Then he gave me this look, like, well, aren't you going to do something about this?

And he finally was able to get in finally and get a bite.

I sometimes think I spend too much time with these dang animals.

Everyone, have a great and wonderful weekend. Kind thoughts in our heads make for kind actions. Love ya!!

Goats and icicles

What a nice weekend. It was almost cool on Saturday and just perfect today.

Yesterday I took George for a walk. The little donkeys didn't like him, they ran as far back as they could, ears perked up and heads high.

The horses weren't much better although most of them came up close to see what he is. Hahaha it made me giggle.

Julio and Cookie both smelled noses with him and the calf licked him. George is so mellow about everything.
Brother Rob watered his pasture and made some really pretty icicles out in the pasture. It was pretty cool.

We ended up with a couple extra goats this weekend but we think we have a home for them.

Well, everyone have a great week.

My lil Pacino

Pacino is a really funny little dog. He acts really tough, but is afraid of the heater vents on the floor, panics when I bump dishes and they cling and clang, if something drops on the floor, he jumps and speeds out of the way.

A very pretty sunset last night, my other camera ran out of battery, so this is from my cell phone. This is to the west.
Some days I feel he is a little dainty at times, the way he walks and stands. I feel fortunate to have him as one of my dogs, because when he came he could stand up on carpet but when he came into the kitchen on the linoleum, his legs would go out in all directions. He didn't have the strength to hold himself up. As time went on, I made sure he spent a lot of time outside to run around and play, and he became stronger.

You can see that he is stronger on the one side more than the other, he will turn one way much quicker, his tail curls one way and wags one way, and when he stretches, he carries his weight on the one leg, stretches them both, but obviously has a strength issue, something. Its almost as if he was stepped on as a baby or something.

Another direction, I just love the colors. To the north.

He is now 2 1/2, and doing well, jumps, runs, spins, plays with Ralfie, mostly tug-o-war, and chasing the birds still.

I have noticed that he is out to get spiders in the house, particularly these little black ones that show up from time to time. One day I was sitting with him in my lap and he started staring intensly at the wall, and there was a spider on it. He wouldn't quit until we were rid of the spider.

More clouds, to the south, and if you look you can see the cat was walking with us, or rather jumping.
When he finds them on the floor, it is a sight. He jumps and snaps at the spider, catches it in his mouth and throws it up in the air, only to repeat this until he is certain that the spider is dead. It is so funny to watch him do this. I cannot imagine what goes through his head, but he is dead set on getting these spiders. I just love this little guy.

Winchester the cat and Pacino are good friends. They play alot, chasing each other around, attacking, and then when Ralf thinks that the cat is getting the better end of the deal, will jump in and the two dogs chase the cat into hiding, only as long as they are facing him, then the cat will jump out and attack the dogs again.

He always sleeps with his head on my feet in the evening. He loves to chase lights and he is camera shy somewhat. If I start taking pictures while he is doing something, he will stop look at me and leave. Ralf is the opposite as are the big dogs. They like being in the camera, especially Caddie, I can't ever get good shots cuz he sticks his nose in my face when I try.

Chickens!!! The dove is waiting and one of our cowbirds is waiting, on the ground by the gate, for me to leave.

Letting stuff go and getting more stuff and stuff

As I have moved on, I have decided to let go of some more "things", one being Cookie. While I love this horse too much, I know that the home he is going to will be good. The previous owner begged us to sell him back, so I will let him go. She and her kids will enjoy him, his kisses and affection. It will be good.

So, then next, we acquired a cow. Yep, back into the cow thing, with little Sadie. She is a half mini, and will be with us for about a year I think. We haven't raised a beef in a while, so this will be good, and we are looking forward to home grown beef again. Some people think that I am a little weird for raising, naming and treating my cows like pets, but I give them a good home, brush them, take them for walks,  talk a lot to them, feed them well and rather do so than see what goes on in feeder lots, its a good thing.

My chickens are laying slowly, but surely, and I am happy for fresh eggs again. I am hoping to hatch out some chicks, and wouldn't mind raising some to eat as well, home grown chicken has so much better flavor than what you buy. And if you were wondering, I talk to my chickens too. A lot of them have names.

Inspiration, it just takes a little inspiration to get it going, and this year, yep, I am going to leap mountains and fly through the sky, trying to get a little bit more done than last year. Ha ha, I will give it good try anyway.

It's time to start preparing the garden, I just haven't had the ambition to start that yet, growing season will be here soon, so better now than the last minute. I don't like the cold much, and am pretty wimpy when it comes to the cold, but I realize that I probably don't know what real cold is, considering what's going on back north and east, I am so thankful for being here. I cannot imaging below zero and trying to cope with it. So, I just need to suck it up and get out there.

I am getting ready to do a "sweep" through the house again, and am hoping to relieve myself of unwanted clutter, junk, unnecessary things that I am not using, not needing, don't have time for, yup. And I think Jonny is too, getting ready to get rid of stuff. He has started working on his closet, redoing it, and I am hoping that we can get it done here soon, as all his stuff happens to be in my sewing/jon's storage room.

Well, I am going to get my list going, and then will try to post it, update what I have already. Everyone have a great one, enjoy your moments.

On track

Wow, two times in one week, I am getting back on schedule. Wondering how everyone is doing? Are  you on track already for this year? Do you realize that it is only 356 days until Christmas? Ha ha, its time to prepare ourselves for a year of Christmas, giving from day one, now, throughout the whole year. Not worrying about the last couple of weeks, when you go into a panic of what should I do?

Oh my, it can get rough that way. Well, so far, this new year has been really good to me. Nothing spectacular other than I am feeling really good, and just as happy as can be.

All the animals are healthy and doing well, as we are, alive, moving and trying to enjoy every moment that is available to us. Here's to a great  year for all of us.

I am going to continue to work on the goals that I have posted, and think of some good ones to add as well. I figure if I can accomplish some of them, I am doing good. I have plans, but we will see how these pan out, as my days are becoming more spontaneous rather than sticking always to a plan, and I like it this new way better. I don't feel near the pressure and am not as worried if something doesn't get done. There is always tomorrow, right? If God is willing to give me another day.

So, all of you have a great day, enjoy and let's make this a generous year filled with success and abundance.
