Hay!!

Wow, what a nice weekend we had. The weather was awesome. I didn't have lessons this weekend so I piddled around with the horses. David had gone to trim horses, so I stayed at home. We did go to a couple of yard sales, it had been almost a month. It was alright.

After David came home, I reminded him about a squeeze that he scheduled in on Saturday, so Jon and I went along. Jon went along to help, I went along for fun!

Jonny always makes moving this hay so easy. He sometimes will carry it on his shoulder just to show off. He's tough, balanced and athletic. And young. Jake is thankful he grew out of the hay thing, haha. I know I am happy I don't move it anymore.

So, while they worked, I had fun. I had to talk to some ladies, and so we had an afternoon snack.

So, finally done, heavy bales, 56 to a squeeze, but sometimes you have to hand load them on a trailer. This one is going to Eager.

We quit picking up eggs to give the chickens a chance, and I had a couple that wanted to set, so she hatched out one. 

And such a good mama.

I did get to sew on my quilt, and by the end of this weekend, I should have the facing done, if all goes well. I am so excited, its not happening as fast as I wanted, but faster than the other quilts. Yeah, so maybe this weekend???

Guess what, more clouds!!

So I finally broke out and got busy with my cameras. Following are some pictures of, you got it, clouds. Haha, but these ones are exceptional. At least I think. The colors, the drama going on, just so beautiful. 

This first one I took when I got home last night from Zumba. There was a heck of a rainstorm that just moved through Safford and followed the base of Mt. Graham. I took this one with my Samsung S3. 

So, I then ran in and got the Nikon camera and started with more pictures. This one was about 20 minutes or so later.

I took this one after the sun went down, just an amazing cloud formation. 

This next picture is from Saturday night at the gymkhana and it was taken with the Samsung. There was a heck of a thunderstorm coming, but this just caught my eye. Its not as clear as the others, but it is pretty.

I apologize for not posting last week, it was a rather busy week all along. But, we are back on track, yeah!!

David has been busy moving hay, these bales are an easy 120 to 130 lbs. They are very heavy, solid like a brick, and when they drop, they just drop and stay where they land.

I used to pick them up, but not any longer. I am a sissy now, and I think I like being a sissy now.

Everything is good, and I have made a little progress on the quilt. I am hoping to work on it a little tonite. Its looking really good, and I am excited to get it done. 

It smells like fall now, and the weather has really been pleasant, especially in the morning. Its been breezy and nice. They shut the gates in Clifton, with all the rain up north and in New Mexico. The river here has been up and there have been flood advisories for about the last 6 days. But its not anywhere close to 1983 or 1979, I think that was the other year. Those two years the river really was crazy.

Rain, Mo and Brother Rob

Quick update on Brother Rob and Mo, hahaha!!

He made a point of coming down to let us know he was getting on Mo again, and that if we saw Mo come home without a rider to come look for him. So, here we are sitting in the shop, sitting and visiting with friends and I see Brother Rob walking up the road with Mo by his side. I told David, here they come and Brother Rob isn't limping so that is a good sign.

As they got closer, Brother Rob looked a little dusty, haha. He did go ride him in the plowed field and said everything was doing good. Apparently Mo was a little ancy again, and a little fussy, so Brother Rob turned him in small circles and Mo lost his footing and tripped and fell down. So Brother Rob rolled off him (those were his words) and then Mo kicked him or hit him or something in his back. He must have rolled the wrong way, I guess. OMG, this is better than a talk show or tv. So, he has a bruise on his back from Mo.

We received an inch of rain Saturday night and then again Sunday night. So, today Brother Rob has decided he and Mo are going back to the field now that its nice and mucky muddy yucky fun and ride. We will see.

The rest of the weekend was good, I did a little sewing and will hopefully get some more done tomorrow night. The rain was intense and crazy, we received both inches in a matter of an hour, as it came down so hard. It caused the road to run, the arena to fill up and my poor chickens were under water in the coop, thankfully they have their roosts and boxes to get in.

We caught the two baby goats and took them for a walk, they were very unhappy, but it was good for them. George helped out a little.

Its supposed to continue to rain all week, but I do hope it doesn't rain as hard, it would be nice to try to dry out again, and its drizzling right now. I was sinking in about 6 inches in some spots, the ground is so wet. But, for someone that likes mud.......  Soooo, we will see what happens. Anyway, I am sorry, no pictures yet, but soon. Brother Rob and Mo

I forgot to mention yesterday that Brother Rob rode Mo again, hee hee, but from the sounds of it, Mo got the best end of the deal. Apparently Brother Rob got on and started riding and doing good. He decided to follow the bull out in the pasture and that was working pretty good for a while. Then, he said, the bull swung around to look at him. At that point Brother Rob decided to go his separate way from the bull. And Mo decided to go his separate way from Brother Rob.

As he moved away from the bull, he told me Mo was a little ancy, and apparently he started bucking just a little. Brother Rob was so proud of hisself because he stayed on for about 4 seconds he said. Hahaha, I was giggling alot. Well, when he hit the ground he decided to stay there to watch Mo continue to buck and race around the pasture for about 3 or 4 minutes. And, because he got the wind knocked out of him. Hee hee. Yeah, he's a dork.

But, he did get back on and rode for another 20 to 30 minutes with no more incidents. Brother Rob has decided that he is going to take him into the plowed field next door, ha ha, that's a David trick, because when a horse is trying to buck when his feet sink 8 to 10 inches or so down, they can't get that momentum going to good.

Just thought I'd share, ha ha ha, am happy Mo is with Brother Rob. :)

Well, I did take some pictures but they didn't come out right, sooooo. I will post some singles, but the others were kind of blurred. Tonite I will try to get some good ones.

Well tonight came and went and a day or so and now its the day after yesterday and I haven't accomplished much. But, I do have the pictures I took the other day and here they are, they are still a little blurred, waiting a couple of days didn't make them any better, but it will do for today. Until tomorrow, we will have to go with these today.

I think this covered the rest of the squares, all 16. They are done, and now I have to decide how set them, block them and add the finishing touches. My exciting plan that I was going to do didn't work, so I have another option rattling around upstairs. :) We will see if I can put it into motion. By the end of this weekend, I hope to have it sewn together, at least the top. That will be the easy part, deciding how to do so is the fun part that takes thinking. Sometimes my thinker goes too slow or fast, haha, but at least its still working.

I am really excited about this and can't wait to get it done. I have to get it done by October 4 because our county fair is then and I decided to put it in there. We will see. Anyway, here is to a great upcoming weekend.
