I am a believer

I have lived part of my life afraid, afraid of so much, and now, I am living to learn, love, laugh, enjoy all that is presented before me. I am able to be me, and enjoy whom I am, and not compromise what I believe in. Be whom you are, not what anyone believes that you should be. Live your life completely and wholly, for yourself, for your family, friends, and as God would have it be.

Good times

Gosh, I'm a slacker again, haha, but I am here today. I had a good weekend, started two new lessons, and they did really well. It was a really good day for me, I was tired by the end but it was worth it. On Sunday I finished sanding on my bench boards, and this weekend I hope to get the ends of the bench ready for painting as well.

Sunday morning I got up, let the dogs out and there was no kitty. Hmm. So I called a little, but still he didn't come. We ate breakfast and I went out to feed. I found a new "chicken" in my coop, perched up on one of the stays that I have in there, mewing. Haha, he was locked up when David closed it last night, he always runs in there. Poor kitty, but at least he was safe. heehee.

All the kids are doing well, and growing so fast. It always amazes me how they grow and change so quickly, I don't know if Gus is proud of them, but most of them come out looking like him.

Tuesday, I gave a riding lesson and after we were puttin up all the stuff and feeding, there was such a pretty sunset that I couldn't resist taking pictures.

I really am content and happy with what I have in my life. There is so much promise, hope and beauty, that I cannot stay sad or upset about anything for very long. Have a wonderful day.

Pies and goats

I made a lime pie all the way from scratch on Sunday and it was delicious!!! And almost as pretty as the picture. Its been a good week, things are good, the weather has gotten a little windy, and dusty, allergies are up, but all in all, good.

This coming Sunday I hope to make a chocolate pie, it really looks yummy too, and if I can pull it off, mm mmmm mmm mmm mmmmm.

All the baby goats are good, doing really well, and we already have takers for them. Goat babies are so much fun and so cute to watch and be around. Inquisitive, bouncing around, they jump on everything, are persistent and then they run, get a drink and go to their little huts and nap.

My little orphan is doing really well. Apparently he is a hit at the feedstore. So, nothing exciting, just good days, good health, good spirits.

Love ya all.

My Sunshine

Well, its been a good week mostly, beautiful weather, but just a little worried that we are going to have a hard freeze come and take everything. I am sure all the trees are getting ready to bloom, fruit trees, and if they do, if it freezes it will harm all the fruit.

Well, my Sunshine kidded yesterday, a beautiful little tan colored billy with points, but she died. I am not sure what happened, he did get his colostrum and milk, and is very vigorous. He has a new home already with some wonderful people at a feed store, who were ecstatic to take him, bottle feed him and raise him. They will add him to their petting zoo, and I am so happy for them too. Rissa will be sad, but we still have Georgia for her.

My Susie delivered two billys today at lunch while I was there, its such an amazing  gift that God has given us all, a miracle. Birthing always amazes me. One is black with a dot on his forehead, just like Sunshine, and he is her half brother. The other looks like Gus, white with points. So, I lost my Sunshine, but was replaced with a cute little billy.

One more to go, Georgia, Sunshine's sister. I am hoping that all goes well with her. The babies are so much fun, and yet it is hard and stressing wondering if all is going to go well. But, I am still feeling blessed.

Yesterday I went to the post office and talked to a man about his VW Bug, ask him what year it was. It's a 1965, and we visited for a little bit. I told him we were looking for a door, because mine was munched a little. He said he had one and not 20 minutes later he came by with the door for $30. Can you believe it? YEAH!!!

I was so excited to go home with my "treasure" and couldn't hardly wait to show David. Haha, one step closer. So, to all, have a wonderful weekend, don't get sunburned here in AZ this weekend, its supposed to be in the 80's. Love ya all.

Goat houses

Gorgeous gorgeous weekend!! Didn't do a whole lot, worked in the goat pen, moved some goats, played with the dogs, rode a little, cooked a little and slept a little.

But, the work that I and Jonny did in the goat pen was OUTSTANDING!!! Hahahaha, well maybe not outstanding. Maybe a little bit of redneck resides in the two of us hee hee!!

The goats had knocked everything down, torn everything up, and so, by separating and moving around, I am hoping that the problem is resolved. Soo, I decided to work on builidng there house back up. There are two heavy pallettes and some plywood and junk. They did tear everything apart except for the two heavy pallettes.

So I started picking up and getting ready and Jon asks if I need help. Yes, I say. We stand up the palettes and I ask him do you want to nail or me? I don't care from him. So I start nailing and then hand the hammer to him to nail on his side. Well, he started nailing.

Then the palettes were in the way and he used the hammer to fix the palettes to nail. We finally got the main frame up, kindof sortof, crooked, not square, not lined up. You gotta understand this wood is just a little warped now, but it still works.

So after we get this frame up, he decides to add a two by for, and I said Jon, what is that for, and of course his goofy answers, you have to know Jon, so the goats will stab themselves. Well, that wasn't going to happen, and he then added another piece of plywood on the bottom, the top and the other side of this board, another little place for the goats to be in. He then added the old door of the house to the palettes so the goats could walk in  a door.

Needless to say, I laughed alot helping to rebuild this goat redneck mansion, haha!! It's kindof cute in a way, I know Jake, here I go using that 4 lettered word!!

The goats are happy, and that's what counts.

Love ya all!!

Blessings

Have  you counted your blessings today?

I remember Aunt Sylvia told me she was told that her children were blessings in disguise, she just had to find them, haha. That's probably why she always tried to put macaroni's in my hair, her kids were always disguised so she wouldn't put them in theirs, hee hee.

Each day, I try to remember all the good things that I wake up to, even when I don't feel good. I try to wake up with a smile, as it makes such a difference in my day. I look at everything that is included in my life, and really, what more could a person ask for?

I am blessed to be alive, walking, talking, sharing. I am blessed with beautiful kids. I am blessed to have my husband. I am blessed to have my doofy dogs, a cat that's more dog and human, horses that give kisses, donkeys that howl at sirens with the dogs, chickens that will race with you, and the hundreds and hundreds of cowbirds that come every winter and spring, raising such a ruckus and fly like great schools of fish, I could watch them for hours.

I am blessed to have lived my life, and while I have had many ups and downs, I don't think that I would ever want to trade it, for all the life lessons that I have learned, about life in general, and more importantly, about me. So many things I am beginning to understand, and it makes me so happy. I am blessed to have a home that I call my home, not fancy, but it is mine.

I am blessed to have 6 ornery brothers, parents, family, friends, grandchildren. I am blessed to be able to be here, and having faith in our Heavenly Father, and knowing that I am truly loved.

What are your blessings?

Romans 8:28

Old Trucks, just love em.

Well, the Superbowl has come and gone, with a game that was, well, ok. The commercials, always being my highlite of the game were so so only in my opinion. I did like the Budweiser one with the puppy, haha, just love them horses. :)

So, I cooked a ham, mashed taters and veges. Nothing exciting but yummy. After dinner I walked around with the big dogs, walking out in the field and they were so happy to be smelling and sniffing everything we walked by, and of course marking everything as well.

They were so happy, and it was so relaxing for me. I made almost 4 laps around the arena, baby steps, so maybe my goal will be reached of two miles this year.

I helped David work on the old pickup a little. He says that its in about the same shape as his 56 Chevy he had, and he is so excited. And so am I. I'm not much of a mechanic but I enjoy tinkering with him pretending I know what I am doing. And there is nothing like sitting with a tub filled with nuts and bolts turning the nuts on the bolts. So I am admit I am wierd. Look at my parents and brothers.

So, we got a few things done on it and it was fun.

We do have lots of work though, between it and the bug, it should be fun watching everything transform.

Including my mechanical abilities. Lol.

After halftime, I made some empanadas with apple fillng, baking them rather than frying, and there were so good!! And I had to eat more than one!! I picked up a few cookbooks over the weekend, and two I really like. One is a De Grazia and Mexican cooking, and the other is a GoodHousekeeping Desserts, and oh my, that one is got such yummy pictures. I also got a Julia Child cookbook, so, along with the 40 or 50 ones that I have, I should be able to come up with something new to cook, right?  Right. Hmmm. I might have to get some bigger pants tho.

Haha.
