I was reading in my email yesterday, came across an email that I forgot I had said yeah, send me stuff kindof email. It was some interesting stuff, not very sugarcoated, reality. A get off your butt and make your life better by changing you and not expecting change of others.
Some of the stuff he said, was to change the way we think about everything that happens. Clear our minds and free ourselves. Like, if you're angry at someone for something they did, instead of saying
I am so mad at so and so for doing this, change it to say,
I am feeling mad at so and so or
I felt mad at so and so for doing this. This changes, he says, your owning this emotion,to help you release this anger rather than clinging to it. The same for depressions, for hostility, for sadness, for frustrations, etc. His idea is to not fuse with these emotions, but to release them from owning you. A Buddhism way of thinking.
I can see how that would really help, it makes sense. One step in the right direction. I know I have a problem with grudges and with hashing out something that happened to me, over and over, trying to justify right or wrong, trying to understand, and it then continues to bug me. If I would just change a few words in these thoughts, it can help me to let it go, especially the really little dumb stuff, and clear my head for funner stuff.
So, if you can change one thought at a time, catch it as you are thinking it, wouldn't it be worth it to make your perspective of everything more positive? Empowering, because then you are taking over your thoughts, having maybe a little more control over you.
I really liked what he was saying, and thought about his perspective of this. So, to a happier and more fulfilling day!!
Love ya!!
