I am a believer

I have lived part of my life afraid, afraid of so much, and now, I am living to learn, love, laugh, enjoy all that is presented before me. I am able to be me, and enjoy whom I am, and not compromise what I believe in. Be whom you are, not what anyone believes that you should be. Live your life completely and wholly, for yourself, for your family, friends, and as God would have it be.

Bunny and dogs

Our Bunny is a female donkey. She was born on our property and raised here. Her mama is a BLM donkey and was very sweet. Bunny is sweet too, but just a little bit ornery as well. And very mischievous and you can see her thinking about things, very smart, maybe too smart. This is a picture of her the morning after she was born.

This weekend we had a young lady and her mom and dad come over so that we could help her with her horse. Her mom, Sabrina, had brought with her a small rat terrier on a leash. It is a very sweet dog, and very friendly, probably doesn't weigh anymore than 8 to 10 lbs. We don't have a problem with dogs much, but, donkeys do. They have some kind of vengeance for them. And chickens. And goats. And sheep.

After we helped her work with her horse, she went to put the horse up, and I turned Bunny loose, as we do so every weekend to wander around, eat weeds, pester the horses, and just have her used to being loose around people.

As Bunny came out of the arena, she eyeballed the dog immediately, and was just watching it. She went over to investigate and Sabrina had to pick it up, especially after I told her that Bunny was stalking her. She would not take her eyes off that little dog. Finally Sabrina walked down to where our round pen is to help put her daughters horse up, and Bunny started walking after her. She never once took her eyes off that dog. The faster Sabrina walked the faster Bunny walked.

I wasn't paying attention much and finally looked down to where there were putting the horse up and I just started laughing. We have a bench and a barrel next to each other and Sabrina was walking as fast as she could with her dog on the leash in circles around the bench with Bunny in pursuit. It was so comical, the faster Sabrina went the faster Bunny tried to catch up to her, not once taking her eyes off that dog.

David had to yell at her to pick up her dog, and I had to go fetch Bunny and put her up. Bunny would not leave her and that dog alone, no matter where Sabrina moved, Bunny was following. It was so funny, she never has stalked a dog before, and with our dogs, she does go after them, but they are all big dogs that run out there. She grew up with our dogs, but donkeys just don't like 'em.

This is Bunny now.
